Bring Your own Device 2018

Heathcote High School is encouraging students to bring their own computing device to school each day. Current Year 6 going into Year 7 at Heathcote High School are required to bring a computing device to school in 2018. Currently Heathcote High is BYOD in Years 7 and 8 which will become Years 7, 8 and 9 in 2018.

Students can select from a range of devices which includes Windows 10 laptops, Macbooks and Chromebooks. It is essential that the devices are not too large and a device with 10 to 11 inch screen is recommended. The device must support 5 GHz n/ac dual band wifi for it to connect to the wifi provided by the NSW DEC. Also recommended is an attached keyboard.

iPads are being discouraged as they do have limitations which make them unsuitable for use in the classroom at Heathcote High School. Mobile phones are not suitable devices.

If a student already has a device and you are unsure if it will work at Heathcote High School, then the device can be brought in and tested.
