Getting to and from school safely
Student safety is our priority. We encourage the whole community to be safe travellers on their way to and from school
As a parent or carer, you are responsible for how your child gets to and from school. Where possible, we encourage walking.
Plan ahead by discussing the following with your children:
- safe travel routes
- how to share the road safely
- alternative arrangements for when unexpected things happen.
Bikes
If riding a bike to school, students are to enter and leave via the Wilson Pde gate and observe traffic rules for bicycle travel. Students are to provide their own lock and chain to secure their bike in the bike bay. Helmets are compulsory. Please note: No scooters or skateboards are to be brought to school. (Except for students participating in skate/scoot on approved sport afternoon).
Drive
Parents and Senior students are to be aware of the official parking restrictions around the perimeter of the school. For the safety of our students, please do not enter the staff car park, unless to collect a sick child.
Transport for students with a disability
Students with a disability who are unable to travel to and from school under the School Student Transport Scheme may be eligible for assistance under the Department of Education Assisted School Travel Program.
