Heathcote High School has a history of developing students' debating and public speaking skills, having reached regional finals in debating on several occasions and competed at the highest level of public speaking events with Toastmasters and Rotary in past years, as well as speaking for the planet. One student was invited to the Youth Eco Summit in 2018 to speak to students from across NSW.
This year Heathcote High School will be competing in the Premier's Debating Challenge and Speaking for the Planet, against schools from across the Sydney metropolitan area. We will be fielding a Year 7/8 team and a Year 9/10 team in the Premier's Debating Challenge. Any students interested in debating and public speaking are encouraged to contact either Ms Gurr, Ms Borysiewicz or Mr Baker in the English Faculty.
