Last week Ganesh S, Year 12, participated in ANSTO's extensive, interactive, hands-on Engineering Work Experience Program. In 2023 the Lucas Height Facility have two programs - Engineering and Science (Women in STEM). and one at Clayton Victoria - The Australian Synchrotron.
Ganesh had the rare opportunity to engage with world-class scientists working on major mechanical and electrical projects within nuclear science and technology. He also gained insights into ANSTO's engineering design processes (eg CAD software).
Ganesh is interested in studying physics and chemistry at university and this experience has allowed him to see firsthand possible future career paths.
The Work Experience Program is open to students in Years 9-12 across Australia and applications are required for the limited places.
